Robert Pondiscio on “Gratitude: The Missing Ingredient in American Education”

It’s time for a reset in public education.

This past November, the Jack Miller Center held the inaugural National Summit on Civic Education at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Nearly 100 civic organization leaders, researchers, and philanthropists gathered and discussed the current education landscape and how we can strengthen and scale our efforts.

Robert Pondiscio, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, delivered the opening address, arguing that it’s time to move beyond the “pedagogy of the depressed” and focus on cultivating gratitude in civic education.
