Jack Miller Center Announces New President Hans Zeiger

The Jack Miller Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Hans Zeiger as the new President of the Jack Miller Center effective August 1st.

Zeiger will be joining the Jack Miller Center from his previous role as Pierce County Council Representative, where he has served since January 2021. Prior to that role, he served for a decade in the Washington State Legislature, where he gained a reputation as a bipartisan collaborator and champion for civic education reform.

Outside of public service, Zeiger brings a breadth of experience in the field of civic education as director of the Chapman Center for Citizen Leadership at the Discovery Institute, captain in the Air National Guard in the role of public affairs officer, published author on several topics in American history, and a former instructor of a political science course at Seattle Pacific University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Hillsdale College, a master’s in public policy from Pepperdine University, and he studied American politics at Claremont Graduate University.

“As the Jack Miller Center is transitioning into a much greater growth mode to meet the increasing challenges of educating our young people on the basics of our founding principles that underlie our free society, I believe that Hans is the person who can lead that effort,” said Jack Miller, founder and board chairman of the Jack Miller Center. “Young, smart, well educated in and passionate about our country’s vision, principles and history, Hans brings the right experience to be the visionary and the public face of the Center.”

“I am eager to get started in the work at the Jack Miller Center, and there is much to do,” said Zeiger.

“Jack Miller is one man who has made a profound difference for America through his generosity and vision. Many thousands of students have been touched by the work of the political scholars, historians, and civics teachers in the Miller network. In the years ahead we will build on this foundation and ambitiously grow the movement for civic education grounded in the core principles of America.”
