The Jack Miller Center: 2021-2022 Call for Proposals
The Jack Miller Center is now accepting proposals for grants of up to $15,000 in support of new campus programs or the expansion of existing campus programs for the 2021-2022 academic year. This call is open to the public, so feel free to circulate this announcement to any teachers, scholars, and administrators who may be interested in submitting a proposal. JMC is seeking to fund both existing and new partner programs. The deadline for submission is May 3rd, 2021.
The Jack Miller Center supports the study and teaching of America’s founding principles and history.
A successful proposal will establish:
• The need for a new program, or the need to expand an existing program, on your college or university campus.
• How the new program or program expansion will advance JMC’s mission.
• Clear goals for measuring your program’s success.
• The ability to secure matching funds or other support from the university and/or other sources, and in general the ability to create a sustainable program without long-term commitment from the Jack Miller Center.
• A Constitution Day-related event (for examples see here) is encouraged.
Some examples of partner program activities:
• A speaker series
• Student reading groups
• A model Senate or Congress program
• A debate club
• A Constitution Day lecture or event
• Programming for middle/high school teachers
This list is not exhaustive, and you are also encouraged to propose your own ideas.
Above all the successful program will demonstrate that the director has developed a clear and thoughtful strategy for achieving its goals with respect to both programming and sustainable funding.
Accepted proposals will be awarded up to $15,000 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Subsequent awards are not guaranteed and may be contingent upon need, performance, and the ability of the program to demonstrate support from its institution and other funding sources.
