In 2012, The University of Chicago Press and the Jack Miller Center launched the journal, American Political Thought: A Journal of Ideas, Institutions and Culture, the only peer-reviewed academic journal exclusively devoted to its subject.

With a great many quality submissions and an impressive backlog, the journal moved from a twice-yearly to a quarterly publication in 2015.

This multidisciplinary journal provides a much-needed venue for scholars interested in works and themes around American political thought. Professor Benjamin Kleinerman, of Baylor University, and Professor Thomas Merrill, of American University, serve as its editors. Dr. Danielle Charette, of the University of Virginia, serves as the journal’s book review editor.
