Susan Warner

Jack Miller Center National Civics Council Member
Chairman, Warner Foundation

Dr. Susan Warner, current Chairman of the Warner Foundation, spent her early career as a Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, including as Associate Professor in the School of Public Health/Department of Epidemiology at UAB from 1989 until 1996. Her association with Jack Warner while in Alabama led to her subsequent interest in American Art and becoming a docent at the New Britain Museum of American Art in 1999. Susan returned to Tuscaloosa in 2003 to work with Jack and his Foundation to develop the education and tour programs at The Westervelt Warner Museum of American Art. Susan and Jack were married in 2006. Since the Museum’s closing in 2012 and Jack’s death in 2017, Susan has led the Board of Directors to re-focus the Foundation’s undertakings to continue Warner’s passion of fostering an understanding and appreciation of early American History through American Art.
