Matthew Denhart serves as president of the Coolidge Foundation. At the Coolidge Foundation, Mr. Denhart has led the development of the Coolidge Scholarship and several other initiatives aimed at sharing the lessons and values of President Coolidge with a broad national audience.
Before joining the Coolidge Foundation, Mr. Denhart served as a research fellow of the George W. Bush Institute, based in New York City, and as administrative director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, based in Washington, DC. He has studied immigration policy extensively and is the author of “America’s Advantage: A Handbook on Immigration and Economic Growth.” In addition, Mr. Denhart has written and spoken widely on the topics of higher education, labor, and tax policy. He has authored numerous policy studies and has contributed articles to many publications, including: The Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, CNN Opinion, Bloomberg View, Huffington Post, and the New York Post. Mr. Denhart played a critical role in developing the index of “America’s Best Colleges,” published annually by Forbes.
Mr. Denhart is a summa cum laude graduate of Ohio University where he earned degrees in economics and political science. At Ohio University, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was the J. Warren McClure/Stephen H. Fuller Cutler Scholar. In 2017 he was named by Forbes to its “30 Under 30” list in the area of law and policy.
