John Meko

John Meko is the President of Founding Forward, a national non-profit charity dedicated to educating and empowering individuals to participate in and uphold our system of self-government. Founding Forward is the result of a merger between The Union League Legacy Foundation and Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. Before his current role, Meko served as Executive Director of The Union League Legacy Foundation. During his time at the Legacy Foundation, he oversaw a dramatic increase in programming, exhibits, collections, scholarships, and fundraising. Meko is a frequent speaker and writer on a myriad of Civil War, civics, and Union League history topics and is a recognized leader in Philadelphia’s cultural and historic community. Meko holds a BS and MBA from La Salle University.
