Virtual Course on The Gettysburg Address

The Civic Learning Institute at Harvard Graduate School of Education is offering an online course for teachers, aligned with the Roadmap to Educating for American Democracy.

In the course, entitled “A New Birth of Freedom: The Gettysburg Address,” participants will concentrate on the significance of the Gettysburg Address and will explore Abraham Lincoln’s impact on American democracy through both his statecraft and literary craft.

The course will be taught by Diana Schaub of Loyola University Maryland. Participants will meet synchronously on February 20th and March 20th from 7-9 PM ET, and will receive a certificate upon completion of the course documenting 10 hours of professional development time.
