The Declaration & the Enduring Promise of 1776
The Indiana Bar Foundation and the Jack Miller Center are co-hosting a workshop in Indianapolis for teachers on the foundations of the Declaration of Independence and its legacy throughout American history.
Participants will hear from Dr. Savannah Johnston of Utah Valley University and explore primary sources to gain insight into this timely topic in honor of America 250. The conversation will center on how the principle of equality is at the the core of the American creed and how it has influenced movements such as abolition, women’s rights, and civil rights.
