Is civic education and leadership possible when we hold different political opinions?

To engage in a conversation about this question, register for this free webinar. You can attend in-person at Merrill Hall Room B01 on the campus of Jacksonville State University or virtually through this Microsoft Teams webinar.

Dr. Kimberly Hurd Hale (Coastal Carolina University) and Dr. Drew Kurlowski (Coastal Carolina University) are co-directors of the Cincinnatus Center. This center studies, discusses, and promotes civic education, civic virtue, and the traditions of political and economic thought. While these presenters work together, they hold different ideological views. How is this possible?

During this event, Dr. Hale and Dr. Kurlowski will each give a short lecture. After hearing their initial ideas, Dr. Benjamin Gross (Jacksonville State University) will moderate a conversation that further probes what civic leadership looks like in the contemporary moment. Finally, the panel will take questions from the in-person and virtual audience.

This event is free and open to the public due to generous support from the Jack Miller Center and the American Democracy Project at Jacksonville State University.
