An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 1 of October, repeating indefinitely

On this day in 1908, Ford’s Model T went on sale for the first time. One of the first mass-production vehicles, the Model T is generally considered the first affordable automobile made for use by the general populace. Though modern cars existed long before the Model T, they were not particularly accessible to ordinary people. 🚗 🚙 🚗

At one point, the majority of Americans owned a Model T, and, from 1913-to 1927, Ford produced over 15 million vehicles.

Did you know? Though Henry Ford famously quipped “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it’s black,” the Model T actually came in other colors besides black. Before and after the time period of 1914-1925, customers could choose from red, blue, green, grey, and (of course) black. ❤️ 💙 💚 🤍 🖤
