|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 26 of March, repeating indefinitely

On March 26, 1874, American poet Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, California. His popular poetry is best known for its focus on nature and rural New England life. 🌲🏡🌳

Still read by schoolchildren today, “The Road Not Taken”, “Mending Wall”, and “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” are some of his best known pieces. He is the only poet to have received four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.

Did you know? “The Road Not Taken” was not meant to be taken very seriously. Though the roads in the poem are often interpreted as life-paths, Frost meant to poke fun at a friend. While walking together, his indecisive friend often regretted not taking another path. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
