An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 4 of July, repeating indefinitely

On this day in 1872, 30th president Calvin Coolidge was born in Plymouth, Vermont. He is the only U.S. president to share a birthday with the country he served. 🎂 🇺🇸 🎂

After President Harding’s death in 1923, Vice President Coolidge took office, markedly cleaning up corruption from the previous administration and retaining the presidency by winning the 1924 election. Known as a pro-business Republican, his administration was defined by stability and decreased government spending.

Did you know? Coolidge was known for his serious and quiet demeanor, earning the nickname “Silent Cal.” He wasn’t bothered by his reputation, however, but seemed to embrace it – “I think the American people want a solemn ass as president, and I think I shall go along with them.”
