An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 27 of September, repeating indefinitely
On this day in 1722, revolutionary patriot Samuel Adams was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Adams was a particularly vocal supporter of American independence, boycotting British goods and serving as an important leader in the radical Sons of Liberty. He also wrote persuasive political pieces denouncing British taxes and later served in the new country’s Continental Congress.
He and John Adams were second cousins. 💁♂️ 💁
Did you know? Adams’s name became associated with Samuel Adams beer because of the company’s hope to emulate his passion and independent spirit. In his own day, Adams inherited a malt house when his father died. Ironically, he did not have great luck with the business, and political opponents took jabs at the bankrupt “maltster”. 🍺🍺🍺
