|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 22 of November, repeating indefinitely

On November 22, 1744, First Lady Abigail Adams was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She may be best remembered for her remark to her husband, founding father John Adams, to “remember the ladies” while making laws for the emerging United States.

Abigail was keenly interested in the development of the new country, and the 1000+ letters between her and John are a testament to her intelligence, humor, and political acumen.

Did you know? Much like her husband, Abigail had an on-and-off friendship with Thomas Jefferson. The two were pen pals for several years and Jefferson regarded her as “one of the most estimable characters on earth.”
