On November 19, 1919, Zion National Park was established in Utah. The park is home to a unique geology including buttes, canyons, arches, and narrow canyons. These shapes are accentuated by their colors – at Zion, visitors are treated to sandstone formations in varying shades of red, pink, cream, and orange.

Did you know? Zion’s narrow slot canyons are awe-inspiringly beautiful, but can also be very dangerous. Hikers in these canyons must be cautious of flash floods, which can happen in a moment – the park even requires permits for some hiking routes.
