|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 4 of June, repeating indefinitely

On June 4, 1738, King George III was born in London, England. George III may be the most famous royal in American history, serving as the British king before, during, and after the American Revolution. Because they were not represented in Parliament, many American colonists felt that the king had shirked his duties by not protecting their interests.

Did you know? George III was the first British king to study science as a part of his formal education. He had a special interest in astronomy – he had his own observatory and Uranus was originally named after him (Georgium Sidus).
