|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 1 of January, repeating indefinitely

On January 1, 1735, American patriot Paul Revere was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He may be best-remembered for his famous midnight ride,
warning Massachusetts patriots of the approaching British before the first battles of the Revolution at Lexington and Concord.

Aside from his political activities, Revere was an accomplished silversmith by trade (as evident in this portrait) and successfully dabbled in engraving and dentistry.

Did you know? Paul Revere could have easily been “Apollos Rivoire.” Revere was named after his father, Apollos Rivoire, a French Huguenot silversmith who anglicized his name to “Paul Revere” upon coming to America.
