|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 26 of February, repeating indefinitely

On February 26, 1919, Grand Canyon National Park was established in Arizona. The canyon is truly awe-inspiring – spanning up to 18 miles at its widest point and plunging to over a mile deep, it is actually larger than the U.S. states of Delaware and Rhode Island (!) The Grand Canyon attracts not only American tourists but visitors from every corner of the world.

Did you know? The canyon was formed over some 6 million years by the Colorado River. Signs of human activity in the canyon date back 12,000 years.
