|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 30 of May, repeating indefinitely

On May 30, 1934, Everglades National Park was established in southern Florida. Roughly 1.5 million acres of wilderness (!), the park encompasses one of the largest wetlands in the world and is known for its beautiful, wild landscapes and wildlife (especially alligators). 🐊🐊🐊

In fact, many of the animals protected by the park are unique to the region, including manatees, American crocodiles, and the rare Florida panther. 🐊🌴🐆

Did you know? The Everglades is a mecca for mangroves, amazing trees that thrive in saltwater and estuaries. The park contains the largest mangrove ecosystem in the western hemisphere. 🐚🌿🦀
