University of Florida: Tenure-Track Assistant Professorships, the Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education

 

Established in 2022, the Hamilton Center is a multidisciplinary academic unit whose purpose is to support teaching and research concerning the ideas, traditions, and texts that shape Western civilization and American values and institutions. The Center also seeks to promote civil discourse and the ethic of citizenship, and prepare students for meaningful careers.

The Center seeks to fill several tenured faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, to start in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Applications are welcome from all relevant disciplines including, history, political science (especially political theory and international relations), philosophy, literature, religion, economics, public policy, and classics.

The selected candidates’ primary job responsibilities will be teaching, research and service.

Requirements

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree. Candidates should have demonstrably excellent teaching experience and a robust research record.

  2. a cover letter which describes your interest in the Hamilton Center’s academic mission;
  3. a research statement;
  4. a teaching statement;
  5. a sample of scholarly writing from within the last three years;
  6. and three letters of recommendation.
