Apply Now: Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Tulane University

 

The Tulane Philosophy Department invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to start fall 2021. Teaching responsibilities will include “Ethics, Social and Political Ethics” (a political philosophy course), “Elementary Logic” and perhaps “Philosophy of Religion”. The teaching load is a 3-3; all courses are at the undergraduate level.

The candidate is expected to have a PhD in Philosophy and to specialize in some area of ethics or political philosophy. Those who have had full responsibility for a course or courses in an appropriate area will be given strong preference.

The application deadline is April 5, 2021.

  1. A cover letter describing qualifications and interest;
  2. a current curriculum vita;
  3. a writing sample (35pp. or less);
  4. three letters of recommendation;
  5. and evidence of teaching effectiveness, including course evaluations.
