Texas State University: Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Science
The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to teach required and elective graduate and undergraduate courses. The department awards the bachelor’s degree and the master of arts degree. All positions are subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor Rank:
- earned Ph.D. in political science by August 2023;
- potential for research and publication in constitutional and public law;
- ability to teach advanced and introductory courses in constitutional and public law;
- ability to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in one of the following three areas: judicial process, Congress, or bureaucratic politics;
- willingness and ability to play a substantial role in advising and coordinating events for pre-law students;
- potential for exceptional teaching;
- and effective interpersonal skills
A demonstrated potential for exceptional scholarly research and publication in constitutional and public law; and a demonstrated potential for exceptional teaching are preferred.
Required Qualifications for Associate Professor Rank:
- earned Ph.D. in political science;
- documented record of exceptional scholarly research and publication in constitutional and public law;
- documented record of exceptional teaching;
- ability to teach advanced and introductory courses in constitutional and public law;
- ability to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in one of the following three areas: judicial process, Congress, or bureaucratic politics;
- willingness and ability to play a substantial role in advising and coordinating events for pre-law students;
- and effective interpersonal skills
