The Political Science Department at Troy University invites applicants for an open rank, tenure track position in political science with a concentration in comparative public administration beginning on August 1, 2021.

This is a ten-month tenure-track position at the university’s Troy, Alabama location. Responsibilities include teaching in master’s degree (MPA) in public administration program as well as undergraduate political science courses, which will be delivered in person as well as online. The position may be asked to teach courses at another Troy location depending on departmental needs.

The Department of Political Science at Troy University currently employs twenty-five faculty members who work in three programs: undergraduate political science, graduate international relations, and graduate public administration.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. A Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Politics, Government, or related field by time of appointment (August 2021);
  2. and demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

Preferred:

  1. Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses that will be delivered on site and online;
  2. a strong secondary specialization (such as research methods, or a regional specialization) in political science that will complement our existing faculty strengths.

The Department of Political Science at Troy University currently employs twenty-five faculty members who work in three programs: undergraduate political science, graduate international relations, and graduate public administration.
