About the Jack Miller Center:
The Jack Miller Center (JMC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to reinvigorating education in America’s founding principles and history. We support professors and educators who share our mission, offering programs, resources, fellowships, and more to help them teach our nation’s college students. We currently have over 1,000 professors in our network who teach on over 300 college campuses. Each year, some 125,000 students take classes with our partner faculty.
Together with our partner professors and other institutions, we also develop innovative programs for high school teachers, helping them develop the rich content they need to introduce founding documents and ideas to secondary school students.
The JMC is seeking a Development Coordinator to assist with our nationwide fundraising efforts.
This is an entry-level position based in our office in Bala Cynwyd, PA (in the Philadelphia suburbs), but remote work may be considered due to the current conditions.
Director of Development
As our new Development Coordinator, you will assist our development team with donor cultivation and communications efforts by:
- Assisting with donor research and wealth screening
- Building individual donor prospect lists
- Creating and maintaining prospect and donor database records
- Assisting in donor outreach events and coordinating event follow up
- Setting up donor meetings
- Coordinating introductory letters, thank-you notes, new donor packet mailings, and donor stewardship reports
- Assisting with the creation of e-mail newsletters and other donor communications
Along the way, you’ll learn valuable fundraising skills that will prepare you for a career in fundraising for non-profits, political organizations, think tanks or other advocacy groups.
Key Competencies, Skills, and Other Position Requirements:
The successful candidate will be passionate about America’s founding principles and ideals, will be entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently. The candidate should also possess:
- A four-year undergraduate degree
- A high-level of interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- The willingness to occasionally travel for JMC events and meetings
- A belief in the mission of the JMC and the ability to articulate that mission
Some knowledge or experience with databases (such as Salesforce) preferred and experience with the Microsoft suite helpful (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Salary and Compensation:
