Now Hiring: ContextUS Assistant Editor

The Jack Miller Center is looking for a scholar who will help develop content for our new state-of-the-art primary source library: ContextUS. The Assistant Editor will work with JMC staff to help communicate key texts and concepts essential to the teaching and study of the American Political Tradition. Work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Writing concise descriptions of key texts and concepts
  • Establishing links between key texts and concepts
  • Tagging key texts and concepts with specific topics
  • Copy-editing site content and providing quality assurance

Built in partnership with Sefaria, a nonprofit organization that has developed a novel software platform to put key Jewish texts in conversation with one another, ContextUS will serve as a powerful research tool for educators, students, and the public.

The position offers flexible contract work with a competitive hourly rate. Graduate-level expertise in American political thought or history is necessary. Past experience with projects in the digital humanities would be ideal, though not necessary.
