The  Department of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin August 1, 2020. The candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Political Thought and other courses as needed.  The position is open to all specialties in political thought. S/he must demonstrate the potential for superb teaching and excellence in scholarship. The teaching load is five courses per academic year. A Ph.D. is required by August 1, 2020.

  2. a curriculum vitae;
  3. sample course syllabi and teaching evaluations;
  4. a copy of graduate transcript(s);
  5. a sample(s) of professional writing (published work preferred);
  6. a statement describing how their teaching, scholarship, mentoring and/or service might contribute to a liberal arts college community that includes a commitment to diversity as one of its core values;
