Happy Valentine’s Day!
February 14, 2024
An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 14 of February, repeating indefinitely
Happy Valentine’s Day! Though this holiday has origins in the Roman fertility festival of Lupercalia and as a Christian feast day, it wasn’t until the 17th and 18th centuries that it become popular to mark it by exchanging notes and tokens of affection with friends and lovers. 🥰💗💝🍫
Did you know? The famous conversation heart candies we see each year started off as lozenges made by the New England Confectionary Company (NECCO) in the 1840s. Inspired by greeting card companies, Necco began printing phrases and messages on their candies in the 1860s and had adopted a heart shape by the early 1900s. ❤️🧡💗💚💛💙
