Ave Maria University: Black Entrepreneurship and the Civil Rights Movement

On April 13, 2023, the Politics Department at Ave Maria University will host Marcus Witcher to deliver a lecture on, “Black Entrepreneurship: Building the Foundation for Freedom.”

On April 13th at 6:00pm in the O’Bryan Performance Hall, come learn how black entrepreneurship, businessmen and women, and civil society made the Civil Rights Movement possible. This presentation will be given by Marcus Witcher who is an Assistant Professor of History at Huntingdon College in Alabama.

Marcus Witcher joined the Huntingdon faculty in 2020. He served previously as a graduate teaching assistant and instructor for the University of Alabama. Dr. Witcher tutored for the University of Alabama Department of Athletics and served as the book review editor for The Southern Historian.
