Call for Papers: Shawnee Trail Conference

Shawnee Trail Regional Conference

The Kinder Institute, a JMC partner program, is now accepting paper proposals for its 5th annual Shawnee Trail Regional Conference on American Politics and Constitutionalism. The conference is open to faculty and graduate students in departments of political science, history, philosophy, and related disciplines. They welcome papers on all aspects of politics and American constitutionalism, broadly defined to encompass political and constitutional development, political thought, and public law.

The conference will take place on March 7-8, 2019, at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.  To apply, send a 250-word abstract of your proposed paper to Connor Ewing (connor.ewing@utoronto.ca), with “Shawnee V” as the subject line. Applications are due December 15, 2018.

The Kinder Institute will provide lunch and dinner on March 8, as well as an informal dinner on March 7 for those whose travel schedule permits attendance. Participants are responsible for the cost of travel and lodging. Discounted hotel rates are available for participants at the Tiger Hotel, located near the University of Missouri campus, and a limited number of travel grants are available for participants unable to secure funding from their home institutions.

Any questions about the conference and applications can be directed to Connor Ewing (connor.ewing@utoronto.ca).
